On Wednesday, the public got a first look at the new Eisenhower Elementary School.

The school opened its doors to the public four years after two modular classrooms were destroyed by fire, and the water and smoke damaged the main building. That forced students to go to the Junior High building in the interim. Students, parents and other community members were able to take a tour of the building and see classrooms, the multi-purpose room that will serve as cafeteria and gym, music rooms and other areas.

Eisenhower Principal Erin Eisenman was definitely impressed with the rebuilt school.
Superintendent Robert Heinrich talked about some of the additions that bring the school up to date.
Students will officially start class at the new Eisenhower on Tuesday. An official dedication and commissioning ceremony will be held later in the school year to give students a chance to take part.
