Indiana needed extra golf to edge defending WPIAL AA champ North Catholic yesterday in a non-section match at the Indiana Country Club. Both teams shot 195 in regulation, forcing a sudden death playoff, with Austin Schawl, Drew Brocious, Chace Force, and Ryan Bell combining to shoot one over par on the first playoff hole, led by Schawl’s birdie, for a one stroke victory. Match medalists were Brocious and North Catholic’s Chris Faber, both at even par 36. For Indiana, Bell shot 38, Schawl 39, Force 40, and Will Steve 42.
Indiana also won a tight JV match at Pheasant Ridge Golf Club in Gibsonia beating North Catholic by four strokes. Indiana was led by Rudy Lipniskis with a 39. Logan Okapol and Joey Mains each shot 44 and Dom Fanella was also in the forties, with a 46.
GIRLS GOLF
A tight match for the Indiana girls, playing on the road for a third straight day. They lost to Plum by fourteen strokes. Indiana’s Liliana Manzi shot 50, Julia Antonacci 53, Laken Kugler 55, and Lelise Allison 60.
