At last week’s board meeting of the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce, Office of Planning & Development and ICDC executive director Byron Stauffer Jr. emphasized the importance of using the new pedestrian bridge over Route 22 in Burrell Township to promote the county’s network of trails. The bridge is currently under construction.
Stauffer also reported that construction is expected to be complete at the new Welcome Center in downtown Indiana sometime this fall, including a new roof, conference room, public restrooms, and other improvements.
Stauffer said work is underway on the new $8 million hangar at the Jimmy Stewart Airport and the planning goes on for the demolition at the Carriage House property along Oakland Avenue in Indiana.
