Cutdown day is tomorrow in the NFL. Each team must get down to 53 players by 1 PM. Mike Tomlin and the Steelers have a lot of decisions to make between now and then.
One of those decisions is who will be the third-team quarterback. Skylar Thompson had an outstanding camp and it carried over into the preseason games, where he was the Steelers’ most effective quarterback. Thompson says he has had a great time at camp.
Thompson’s competition will be sixth round draft pick Will Howard, who has missed the last three weeks with a hand injury and could be headed for the injured reserve list.
Already missing first round draft pick Derrick Harmon, the Steelers’ defensive line was without starter Keeanu Benton yesterday. He has a reported upper body injury.
