A boy who was pulled out of the Kiski River in Armstrong County on Saturday has died.
Allegheny County’s Medical Examiner’s office confirmed that Colton Bureau, an Apollo-Ridge student, was pulled out of the river near the Roaring Run trailhead. First responders were sent out at 2:45 Saturday afternoon after a report of Bureau having a medical emergency and falling into the river. Two other kids and eight adults helped pull him out of the water, and he was later taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital.
The investigation is continuing. Apollo-Ridge officials posted a letter over the weekend to the district’s website, saying they will have counselors available this week, with a heavy focus on the secondary grade levels.
