State Treasurer Stacy Garrity has received the support of several members of Republican leadership in her run for Pennsylvania Governor, including State Senator Joe Pittman and State Representative Jim Struzzi.
Garrity announced her candidacy earlier this month. She said that getting the support of the Republican leaders in the general assembly means a great deal to her, and added she was “grateful for their confidence in my record and vision for our commonwealth.”
In a statement, Senate Majority Leader Joe Pittman said that Garrity demonstrates “leadership grounded in principle, fiscal responsibility, and commitment to doing what is in the best interest of the people you serve.” House Appropriations Committee Republican Chairman Jim Struzzi said that Garrity has served the state well as its treasurer, and “has earned the trust of Pennsylvanians everywhere.”
Garrity won a second term as treasurer last November.
