Multiple fire crews were called out in connection with a structure fire last night in Green Township.
Indiana County 911 reports that the call first went out at 5:37 PM, with Cherry Tree, Commodore and Hope fire departments initially dispatched to a home on Route 240 along with Citizens Ambulance. Clymer fire department was called out a few minutes later to provide a tanker assist, and would later standby for Commodore fire department, while Hastings Borough Fire Department was on standby for Cherry Tree Fire department.
The Commodore Fire Department reports that the fire was at the rear of a house. Crews were able to put in a quick knockdown. Commodore fire department would be called out for a reported rekindle in connection with the fire at 11:34 PM, and crews discovered a mattress still smoldering from the prior fire.
No word on the cause the fire yet. State police fire marshals have been called in to investigate.
