VOLLEYBALL
Indiana took the first set, 25-22, but Forest Hills won the next three, 25-18, 25-22, and 25-19 to hand the Indians their first loss of the season, 3-1. Paige Fisanich led Indiana with 23 kills, Hannah Stone had 19 assists and Chloe Hain had 18 assists. Emma Todd added 6 digs and Allison Lichtenfels had 5 kills and 4 blocks. Indiana falls to 6-1 and is back in action tonight with a Section home match against McKeesport.
BOYS GOLF
Homer-Center closed the Heritage Conference regular season with a 20-stroke win over Northern Cambria at Chetremon. Ty Steffey shot 41 and was the medalist, with Reece Coy and Elliot Drew each shooting 43, and Brayden Rado, Aiden Darr, and Noah Todd all shooting 44. The Colts were led by Zach Cavallo’s 43, with Luke Blickenderfer and Anthony Mountain each shooting 44.
Homer-Center finishes the regular season 10-3 to set itself for tomorrow’s Heritage Conference Championship at Mannito Golf Course in New Alexandria.
At the WPIAL Section 1 Individual Championship at Glengarry Golf Links in Latrobe, four Indiana golfers bested the target score of 80 to advance to next Monday’s WPIAL playoffs. Austin Schawl and Drew Brocious each fired even par 70 to tie for the title. They shot identical round scores with four birdies, two bogeys, a double bogey, and eleven pars. Chace Force shot 77, highlighted by an eagle-two hole-out from seventy yards on the par four fourth. Beau Raykes shot 79. Nineteen players from Section One will play in the WPIAL Finals Monday at Willowbrook Country Club in Apollo.
GIRLS GOLF
Indiana fell to Oakland Catholic by 42 strokes at Edgewood Country Club. Lelise Allison led Indiana with a 56. Julia Antonacci and Laken Kugler will represent Indiana at the section individual qualifier today at Three Lakes Golf Course in Verona.
