GIRLS GOLF
Indiana had two girls playing in the 18-hole sectional individual qualifier for a chance to play in next week’s WPIAL Finals, and one of them used a dramatic 18th hole birdie to make it in. With a target score of 91, Julia Antonacci shot 51 on the front nine, so she needed a 40 on the back at Three Lakes Golf Course in Penn Hills. She need to par the final hole to make it, and got on in two on the par 5 18th, then two-putted for birdie and a 90 overall. Her 39 on the back nine was a personal best for nine holes. The other Indiana golfer, Laken Kugler, was in position after nine holes after making the turn at 47, but she struggled on the back to finish eleven strokes off the pace.
BOYS GOLF
Indiana wrapped up Section play with a 10-2 record after a three-stroke victory over Kiski Area at the Indiana Country Club. Ryan Bell shot 37 and three of his teammates, Austin Schawl, Will Steve, and Drew Brocious, all shot 38, while Chace Force and Beau Raykes both shot 41. Kiski’s Owen Koniecczy was medalist at two under 35. Indiana will await the announcement of the date and location of the WPIAL team semifinals.
HERITAGE CONFERENCE GOLF
The Heritage Conference Golf Championship Tournament tees off today at 9 AM at Mannitto Golf Course in New Alexandria. The top six girls and top six boys will be recognized along with a boys team champion.
VOLLEYBALL
Indiana rebounded from its first loss with a return to Section play and a three-set sweep of McKeesport, 25-13, 25-18, and 25-13. Paige Fisanich had eleven kills and three aces. Ellie Long had nine aces and Rylin Blystone four. Chloe Hain had fifteen assists and Hannah Stone had nine. Indiana is 7-1 overall and 5-0 in Section. Indiana won the JV match, 2-0.
BOYS SOCCER
First place Hampton handed Indiana a 5-1 loss, dropping the Indians to 4-4-1, and 13-1 in the section.
