Two townships in the northern part of Indiana County have announced burn bans due to the dry weather.
Both Montgomery and Grant Townships are prohibiting all outside fires unless it’s in a completely enclosed container like an outdoor furnace. Montgomery Township’s ban is in effect until October 10th while Grant Township’s will end on October 16th.
Commodore fire department is also reminding citizens that whether there is a burn ban in place or not, a person who is found responsible for a brush fire can be responsible for the costs associated with putting it out.
