A North Apollo man accused of stealing a motorcycle earlier this week is now in Indiana County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing.
State troopers have charged 39-year-old Jacob Penrose with Robbery with the threat of immediate serious injury, robbery of a motor vehicle, theft and possession of an instrument of crime for the theft on September 17th in Creekside. Police said that he held the victim at gunpoint and made off with a motorcycle the victim was trying to sell. The victim chased Penrose until he lost him in the area of West Lebanon Road and Old Route 56. Both the bike and the gun used in the robbery were recovered. Police arrested Penrose at 12:15 AM yesterday after finding him in a motel in Salem Township, Westmoreland County.
Penrose also faces similar charges with the theft of a car in Young Township on September 18th. That car was also recovered.
Bail for Penrose was set at $250,000. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 30th.
