On Monday night, the Indiana School Board approved a non-binding letter of interest for the sale of the Horace Mann Elementary School Building.
Pivotal GP Holding, LLC wishes to purchase the building and repurpose it for low-cost apartments for families on fixed incomes. Superintendent Robert Heinrich said that this is still in the early phases.
Their offer is for $470,000, which is the current estimate for the property. The building was decommissioned last year and parts of it are currently leased to Merakey.
In other business, by a 5-4 vote, Sally McCombie was named the board vice president. She will serve in that position until December 2025 or until a successor is elected.
