Sean James Grindle, 46, of San Diego, California, passed away on September 20, 2025. Born to Gary and Lynn Grindle on July 7, 1979, Sean was a devoted husband, son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Scheeley; his parents, Gary and Lynn Grindle; his sister, Erin Bauer, and her husband, Scott; his brother, Ryan Grindle; his nephew, Alex Bauer; and his niece, Madelyn Bauer.
Sean was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard and Joanne Grindle; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Marguerite Dickson; his uncle, James Grindle; his aunt, Catherine Hess; and his uncle, Robert Dickson.
Sean built a successful career as the Equipment Sales, Service, and Delivery Manager at Fitness Direct, Inc. in San Diego. Dedicated to both his professional and academic pursuits, he graduated Magna Cum Laude with an Associate Degree in Business Management from California Coast University and earned an Associate Degree in Economics from San Diego Miramar College, where he was a proud member of the Delta Epsilon Tau Honor Society.
Sean also gave back to his community as a Certified Volunteer VITA tax preparer with the International Rescue Committee.
Beyond his career, Sean enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He could often be found on the golf course with his good friend Daniel, fishing, boxing, or spending time as a member of the South Bay Rod and Gun Club. Sean loved trying new recipes to share with friends and family. Sean was known for his loud laugh and incredible sense of humor, which brightened the lives of those around him. He will also be remembered for his deep love of family and his constant support and encouragement of his niece and nephew.
Sean will be remembered for his hard work, kindness, and love for family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 4, at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, 965 Philadelphia Street, Indiana, PA 15701, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, October 5, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Indiana, PA, at 2:00 p.m., with family and friends received beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Oakland Cemetery.
