Saturday was a busy day for Indiana County’s first responders. After two accidents early in the day, on Route 119 in Rayne Township and on South Main Street in Homer City, the action heated up in the afternoon. There was a crash on South 7th Street in Indiana Borough at 1:55 PM, and another accident on Philadelphia Street in White Township just before 2:30. At 4:43, Plumville, Marion Center, and Creekside firefighters were dispatched for Indiana County’s 78th brush fire of the year, along Lutz Road in South Mahoning Township. Minutes later, Marion Center was dispatched for a vehicle fire at Route 119 and Route 403 in East Mahoning Township.
Armagh/East Wheatfield, Clyde, and New Florence firefighters were summoned for a structure fire along West Philadelphia Street in Armagh at 5:07 PM. At 7:40, Indiana firefighters and borough police checked out some smoke along South 7th Street, and at 8:24 PM, Armagh/East Wheatfield Township firefighters responded to an accident on Route 56 East in East Wheatfield Township.
