Indiana County’s first responders had a relatively quiet day yesterday, with the exception of an incident on Oakland Avenue in White Township.
Indiana Fire Association members were called out for a “special detail” at the former Rustic Lodge property on Oakland Avenue at 10:37. Fire officials said that the property owner was burning some brush in a controlled burn but it was producing a heavy amount of smoke that was affecting visibility in the area, so the department was asked to assist.
The only other calls for service yesterday were a rescue at 6:49 AM as a man was trapped in his car with a downed power line on the vehicle on Clark Street in Conemaugh Township. Saltsburg and Tunnelton fire departments were sent out for that rescue.
The only other call of the day was for an automatic fire alarm activation at the Rose Building on 8th Street in Indiana Borough. That call was a false alarm.
