A major fire has been reported at Finzer Roller in Burrell Township.
The first report came in at 4:38 this morning for a location along Route 119 South in Burrell Township. Blacklick, Blairsville, Coral – Graceton , Indiana, Clyde , and Homer City fire departments, RIT & Citizens Ambulance were all dispatched.
Within twenty minutes, Brush Valley , Armagh , Cherryhill Township, Coal Run – McIntyre, and Iselin – Lebanon fire departments were sent to assist, along with State Police.
Homer City Fire Chief Terry Gardener said that when they arrived, there was heavy fire coming from the roof of the plant, but it was hard to locate as smoke was hindering visibility.
He also said the damage was extensive. No word yet on a cause, though Gardener does not think it to be suspicious in nature.
Crews are currently waiting for a vent truck in order to vent out the building and try to determine a cause.
There were a few employees of the plant on site, but they had no comment.
Finzer Roller has twelve locations in nine states, three of which are in Pennsylvania. The plant in Coral manufactures urethane and rubber rollers weighing up to 10,000 pounds.
