Northern Cambria and Penns Manor were scoreless after one quarter on Saturday, but the Colts outscored the Comets 13-3 in the second quarter on their way to a 27-10 win. Both teams scored touchdowns in the third quarter, and Northern Cambria added one more score in the fourth.

The win for Northern Cambria vaults the Colts over Moshannon Valley in the District 6 Class A rankings. The Colts are in fifth place with 460 points, 80 more than the Black Knights. Penns Manor holds onto seventh place, 50 points behind Mo Valley and 90 ahead of eighth place Purchase Line.
Homer-Center would have gained ten power points no matter who won last night’s game, having beaten both Northern Cambria and Penns Manor this season. The Wildcats now have 760 points, twenty behind second place Juniata Valley and forty ahead of fourth place Claysburg-Kimmel. Bishop Guilfoyle leads Class A with 1,090 points and cannot be caught, with only two games left in the season.
Homer-Center plays at AA Cambria Heights, which is 7-1, on Friday, with a lot of points at stake for the Wildcats (WCCS and Renda Digital TV). Northern Cambria hosts Class A 4-4 Conemaugh Township. Penns Manor visits 5-3 United Valley, another AA school (on 92.5 FM U92).
Friday’s other action includes 8-0 Marion Center hosting 7-1 River Valley (Cat Country 106.3 FM), 2-6 Purchase Line welcoming 2-6 Portage, and two winless teams facing each other, when West Shamokin visits Conemaugh Valley.
