State System of Higher Education Chancellor Dan Greenstein tweeted yesterday that after his testimony before committees of the State House and Senate this week, he is inspired by Senator Art Hayward’s call for the presidents of the State System universities to take aggressive action against the culture of racism on their campuses. Hayward has asked victims of racism on State System campuses to contact him at his website.
Greenstein says he is proud of the efforts within the State System and is “excited to double down” together because there is still much more to do.
The chancellor also tweeted about his frank conversations with the General Assembly about the State System Redesign, saying that three years in, with the pandemic accelerating the effort, it’s not a question of more public investment or more effective management, but “success requires a both-and approach”, which he characterizes as “less possible today than ever before.”
