The Steelers did not practice yesterday but they did hold team meetings, and they tried on the yellow helmets they’ll wear when they debut their new throwback uniforms on Sunday night against Green Bay.
Wide receiver Calvin Austin III was asked if he will be able to play after missing the last two games with an injured shoulder, and he answered “Hopefully.”
Much of the talk in the locker room was about the defense’s struggles last week against the Bengals, and about quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ ability to move around and out of the pocket, even at age 41.
Linebacker Patrick Queen said it wasn’t schematic…they simply didn’t beat the Cincinnati blockers.
Queen says the Steelers are better than they showed last week.
Offensive tackle Troy Fautanu says the young offensive line is working hard to play as a unit.
Tackle Broderick Jones says the key against the Packers will be giving Rodgers the chance to make plays.

In a Monday Night Football doubleheader, Detroit beat up Tampa Bay 24-9. The Bucs lost star wide receiver Mike Evans for the long-term with a broken collarbone.
The Seahawks held off a late Houston rally and beat the Texans 27-19 in Seattle.
