At the PIAA golf championships, West Shamokin’s Alex Talmadge shot a second round 75, a three-stroke improvement on his first round, to finish at nine over par and lead the Heritage Conference contingent. Talmadge finished in a tie for 23rd place. River Valley’s Jake Pynos shot 83, finishing seventeen over and in a tie for 49th and Homer-Center’s Brayden Rado shot 82, improving on this first round score by seven strokes. Conemaugh Township’s Ben Steinbeck was at fourteen over.
Scranton Prep’s Cole Powell won the tournament, at seven under par.
River Valley’s girls will take part in the District 6 team championship, teeing off today on Penn State’s White Course.
