Aaron Rodgers says he has no animosity toward the Green Bay Packers, the team he quarterbacked for eighteen seasons, and against whom he will play this Sunday night for the first time in his career. Instead, he says he has a job to do…for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rodgers says there is a great Green Bay-Pittsburgh connection in the Packers organization so he knew a lot about the area when he agreed to come and play for Mike Tomlin. Two of the guys he mentioned are from Indiana County.
Rodgers says he talked at the Penguins game on Tuesday with former Steelers Brett Kiesel, and they remarked how ex-players tend to settle in Pittsburgh when their playing days are over.
Wide receiver Calvin Austin III was a full participant at Steelers practice yesterday and said afterward he felt good. He’s been out since suffering a shoulder injury against the Vikings three weeks ago. Center Zach Frazier was added to the injury list and was limited with a calf injury. Linebackers Malik Harrison was a full participant and rookie quarterback Will Howard was designated for return and practiced fully. He’s not practiced since breaking a finger on this throwing hand early in training camp.
Packers wide receiver Christian Watson says he intends to play this week for the first time since tearing his right ACL ten months ago.
