A pre-trial conference is set for today for one of the four suspects in a shooting on IUP campus in February of this year.
Daron Reel, 19, of Philadelphia faces charges of attempted homicide, two counts of robbery with the threat of serious immediate injury, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, two counts of aggravated assault and conspiracy to all except the attempted homicide charge for the shooting on Valentine’s Day this year at two student rental units on Wayne Avenue. Police say he shot one of the robbery victims, with the bullet going through his chin and neck and lodging in his shoulder. The man survived.
Reel was one of four suspects in the case. Nafis Harper, Samuel Wilson and Mamadi Saccoh, all of Philadelphia, have criminal call hearings scheduled for January 8th. The three all face similar charges with the exception of attempted homicide.
