Indiana Borough Council will meet at a special time on Monday, 6 PM, at the George E. Hood Municipal Building, and Borough Manager Nicole Sipos says one of the main areas of discussion will be the Indiana County Municipal Emergency Services Authority, the first county-wide agency of its kind in Pennsylvania. The authority, for which 31 municipalities have signed on, plans to begin operations as soon as early next year.
The authority board is also meeting tomorrow.
At a public hearing on December 11th at Homer-Center High School, the public will learn specific details about how the service will operate, including the mandatory fees that will be collected from the residents of the 31 participating municipalities.
