A Pittsburgh man charged with providing the drugs that resulted in an overdose death in 2024 is due in court today for a formal arraignment hearing.
Indiana Borough Police charged 40-year-old Victor Marcinik with involuntary manslaughter, drug delivery resulting in death and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver for the death of an un-named 43-year-old man who died August 20th of 2024. Officers were called out to the 1000 block of Church Street for a report of an unresponsive man who suffered a heart attack, and while they performed lifesaving measures, the man did not recover. The heart attack was reportedly triggered by drugs supplied by Marcinik.
He has been in Indiana County Jail since his arrest in August of this year on $20,000 bail.
Also due in court today for a formal arraignment is 62-year-old Rebecca Jean Kraelin of North Wales in Montgomery County. She is charged with one count of corruption of minors for a case that goes back to December of 2023. In December of that year, the State Police Troop A investigative unit received a Child Welfare report.
Kraelin, who was a teacher with Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School at the time of the incidents, engaged in inappropriate conversations online with a 17-year-old Rayne Township girl that was a cyber student. Troopers learned that Kaelin was communicating with the victim during video chat sessions outside of classroom and school club hours. This was captured on the family’s in-home “nanny-cam,” which the victim’s parents had placed to ensure that their daughter was doing her schoolwork.
