Indiana County Commissioners on Friday announced the hiring of James Yaworski as the new administrator for the county’s office of Children and Youth Services.
Yaworski is currently the chief probation officer for the county, and will continue in that position as he serves as the administrator of the CYS. Yaworski is a retired Major in the U.S. Air Force and holds several commendations with the Air Force. He is also fully trained in evidence-based practices for community supervision and is qualified as a coder, fully trained in cognitive behavioral therapy. Yaworski has served as a youth development counselor, a drug and alcohol case manager, a parole agent and supervisor, and a chief probation officer.
Yaworski was selected out of 33 individuals who applied for the position, and was selected after a thorough review and interview process. The county commissioners and President Judge Tom Bianco said in a statement said that the county is fortunate that he applied and that he wanted to continue to serve in both positons. Yaworski also said that he is looking forward to “implementing evidence-based practices in order to provide Indiana County residents with the best possible services while keeping Children and Youth Services Agency focused on the best interest of children.”
