State police announced today that applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Indiana County Camp Cadet program.
This year’s camp will be held July 12th to the 18th at Camp Orenda on Lions Health Camp Road in Indiana. The program is a free opportunity for kids ages 13 to 15 who attend school or live in Indiana County to attend a week-long overnight camp a chance to experience careers in law enforcement, military, criminal justice, first responder and related fields first-hand. The camp is staffed by State Troopers and other volunteers.
The participants will be physically and mentally challenged and will engage in team-building exercises, develop self-confidence and leadership qualities, and explore law-enforcement-related topics and skills. The camp is not a recreational or disciplinary camp for problem youth.
Applications are available at the state police barracks on Fenton Road in Indiana or downloaded from the Camp Cadet website. Applications are due May 15th.
