The first round of the PIAA basketball tournament begins tonight for our area teams, and we’ve got action on 92.5 FM U92, Cat Country 106.3 FM, and Renda Digital TV.
Marion Center tips off the action with a girls 3A matchup with WPIAL champion Shady Side Academy at Fox Chapel High School. It’s on Cat Country at 5:40, tipping at 6.
There’s another 3A game tonight involving a Heritage Conference team. The Cambria Heights girls take on Troy Area, out of Bradford County, on Renda Digital TV, airing at 6:40.
On U92, the Penns Manor girls play a 2A game against Union City, from Erie County, with airtime at 6:40, tipoff at 7.
The United girls play a 2A game at UPJ against District 5 champion Berlin-Brothersvalley.
Saturday’s action includes District 6 2A boys champion United welcoming WPIAL 7th place finisher Neshannock to the IUP Memorial Field House, airing on Renda Digital TV at 12:15, with tipoff at 1.
Northern Cambria’s boys play a 2A game at WPIAL champion Jeannette tomorrow at 1.
In 3A, the River Valley boys will play Trinity in Camp Hill on Saturday at 1.
And in girls 5A, Indiana travels to Erie to challenge Cathedral Prep, airing on WDAD at 12:40.
