Roy E. Ramsden, Sr., 79 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
He was born June 21, 1946 in Strangford, PA, the son of the late Jack W. Ramsden, Sr. and Nora M. (Repine) Mumau.
He was a Blairsville High School graduate and went on to receive an associate degree at Duquesne University. Ed worked in mobile maintenance for Penelec. He was a US Army National Guard Veteran. Ed enjoyed golfing, fishing, working on cars and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his children: Laura Mary E. Reeger & husband, George, Aultman, PA, Grace A. Sommers & husband, Brian, Sewickley, PA, Roy E. Ramsden, Jr. & wife, Tracy, Saltsburg, PA, Calvin D. Ramsden & wife, Pam, Saltsburg, PA, Curtis E. Ramsden, Blairsville, PA and Rebecca J. Davis & husband, Gary, Greensburg, PA; grandchildren: George Reeger III & wife, Brittany, Samantha J. Reeger & husband, Matt Chelsted, Regina Ankney & husband, David, Scott Sommers & fiancée, Ursula, Brooke Sommers, Hope Cullen-Shearer & husband, Colton, Christopher Ramsden & wife, Merrisa, Corey Ramsden & wife, Rena, Tyler Vatter & Tiffany and Tim Vatter; 11 great grandchildren and brother, William “Bill” Ramsden, Sr. & wife, Doris Jean, Blairsville, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laura A. (Rhea) Ramsden in 2021 and his siblings: Jack Ramsden, Carl Ramsden & Mid Davis.
In keeping with Ed’s wishes, all services were private. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, Blairsville, PA.
