A man charged in connection with a carjacking in Pittsburgh last month was picked up in Indiana County on Monday.
According to a news release from Allegheny County Sheriffs, 39-year-old Tristan Scott was wanted for a fight near the intersection of the Boulevard of the Allies and Cherry Way on March 31st. A day after the fight, sheriff’s deputies saw Scott in downtown Pittsburgh when he jumped a barricade near the Fort Pitt bridge and landed on the Parkway. After trying to get into several cars that were stopped in traffic, Scott found an unlocked car, got in through the passenger side, kicked the driver out, and drove away towards the Fort Pitt bridge.
The Sheriff’s office said he was arrested in the lobby of the Days Inn in Indiana on Monday at 1:00 PM without incident. Sheriff’s officials were assisted by state police troopers and US Marshals. Scott is now awaiting his preliminary hearing on April 20th in Allegheny County Jail. Bail was not set as he was considered a threat to public safety. He faces charges of robbery of an automobile, receiving stolen property, reckless endangerment, unauthorized use of an automobile and summary driving-related crimes in this case, and was also wanted on a bench warrant for drug court violations that go back to 2020.
