Two people were hospitalized after a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV in Blairsville last Saturday.
Blairsville Police Chief Lou Sacco said officers were sent at 5:01 PM on April 4th to Route 217 in the area of Walnut Hill for the collision. Officers discovered that 31-year-old Michael Lyon Jr. of Blairsville was riding his motorcycle north on 217 and was speeding when he crossed the center line while making a turn and hit an SUV driven by 73-year-old Nancy Gould of Blairsville. Lyon was airlifted to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment of injuries, while Gould had minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Latrobe Hospital.
Police have charged Lyon with reckless driving, speeding and other summary traffic-related violations.
