State police are continuing their efforts to identify three suspects and a vehicle involved in a series of thefts from unlocked vehicles that happened on May 15th in White Township.
Police were dispatched that morning to the Brookwood Estates area of the township for several thefts or attempted thefts from unattended vehicles between 5:00 and 6:00 AM. The thefts were reported in the areas of Ben Avon Street, Morningside Drive and Valley Road. Police say the thieves made off with a checkbook, bank cards, a wallet and a dashboard-mounted camera.
Police were able to acquire surveillance video that showed two unknown suspects going through Brookwood Estates at 5:42 AM. One of the suspects was seen approaching and attempting to open a locked vehicle parked in driveway. The suspects then fled in an awaiting car operated by a third unknown suspect.
Police describe one of the suspects was wearing a dark-colored shirt or jacket with a narrow white or reflective stripe along the shoulder and the back and white Nike sneakers with yellow and either orange or red colored rubber on the underside of the soles. The car they got away in was a silver Chevy Sonic that made a distinct mechanical-sounding noise as it fled.
