Indiana will get another chance at a Quad-A state baseball championship, while Homer-Center came up just short of a trip to the title game in Class A yesterday.
Indiana will look for its second straight championship on Thursday against the team it lost to in the championship two years ago, after the Indians stumbled out of the gate but rebounded to knock off Archbishop Wood.

Coach Dan Petroff’s pitching staff finally surrendered runs, the first they’ve given up since the playoffs started, but he was confident that his pitchers would get the job done.
Holy Ghost Prep beat Montoursville, 4-1. Indiana downed Montoursville last year for their first-ever state championship after Holy Ghost Prep edged Indiana, 6-5 for the championship in 2024. Petroff says it will be a good matchup with Holy Ghost Prep on Thursday afternoon.

First pitch for the championship game will be at 1:30 and already plans are in place for a community sendoff as the bus leaves town on its way to State College. In Class A yesterday, Homer-Center went toe-to-toe with Dock Mennonite, but the Wildcats were off defensively, and it cost them. Todd Marino has the recap.
Coach Scott Bauer was proud of his team for the fight they showed, not only yesterday but all through a challenging season.
Bauer says his seniors put together a historic run in their high school careers, and this season was special for them and the entire team.
At First Commonwealth Bank Field in Homer City yesterday, Eden Christian beat Elk County Catholic 5-1 to earn the chance at a second straight Class A championship Friday against Dock Mennonite. In the second game of the doubleheader, Dubois beat Hollidaysburg, 4-1 in Class 5A. The Beavers will play Greencastle-Antrim for the championship on Friday.
