The Pirates last night started a string of 22 straight games against teams that are .500 or better, and they dug themselves out of a big hole to grab a win in Philly.

Manager Donnie Kelly says the Pirates are battlers.

Injured pitcher Wilber Dotel was with the Pirates in Philadelphia last night after throwing a rehab outing for Altoona on Saturday. He was supposed to throw two innings but went only one for the Curve. Manager Donnie Kelly says the team “pulled him back” but said there were no major issues with him. The team has not announced when Dotel will pitch again.

Altoona opens a six-game series at Portland, Maine, tonight. The Curve have not named their starter.
