As the heavy thunderstorms rolled through the area yesterday, local emergency crews were called out to help deal with storm-related damage.

The first of these calls was reported at 5:13 PM, as Marion Center firefighers were dispatched for a vehicle accident on Route 119 North near West Creek Road. Fire crews say that a tree fell and landed on a car. No injuries were reported in the incident. Marion Center was assisted by Perry Township firefighters and state police.
Indiana County 911 also reported that Blairsville and Black Lick firefighters were dispatched at 6:43 PM for a lines down call on Old Indiana Road in Burrell Township, and a second call concerning utility lines was reported at 9:49 PM on Iselin Road in Young Township. Iselin/West Lebanon firefighters were called out for that incident. Pine Township fire crews were also called out at 9:41 PM for a report of a transformer on fire on Route 403 North.
Brush Valley firefighters were also called out for a vehicle accident on Route 259 in Brush Valley Township at 8:34 PM.
