The Pirates secured another top pick earlier today, signing second-round choice Anthony Solometo – a left-handed pitcher from Bishop Eustace Prep in New Jersey.
Per MLB’s Jim Callis, Solometo’s deal comes with a $2.8 million signing bonus, which is $800,000 over the slot value.
He will be assigned to Pirate City in Bradenton where he will start in the team’s Florida Complex League team.
