Monday night, the Indiana School Board approved a motion to move membership fees from some organizations that the superintendent belongs to so that he can join a prestigious organization of fellow district leaders.
Rob Heinrich was invited to join the Forum for Western Pennsylvania Superintendents, which was founded by the University of Pittsburgh in 1994. They meet twice a year to discuss advocacy for children and youth, collaboration and congeniality among school leaders, mentoring new school leaders, and to learn more about their profession. Heinrich said it was a great honor as only a few superintendents are invited to be members. That sentiment was echoed by board member Josh Muscatello.
To help, the board approved paying the membership fee for the Forum for Western PA Superintendents instead of three other organizations, per Heinrich’s contract.
The board also approved a tax appeal settlement for S&T Bank for a fair market value of $7 million. The recommendation came from the administration and district solicitor.
