Nancy G. Steffy, 75, of Indiana, passed away Monday, August 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 11, 1951, in Indiana, she was the daughter of William K. and Anna K. (Walker) Wassam.
Nancy grew up in Indiana where she loved showing horses and going to the Red Rooster with her good friend Patty Craig. She was a graduate of Indiana Area High School, class of 1969.
In addition to raising her family, she worked for the Indiana School District and PennDot as a payroll specialist until her retirement in 2013. In retirement she worked at Christ Episcopal Church and JoAnn Fabrics.
Outside of work, Nancy was known for quilting, baking and watching Hallmark movies. She especially enjoyed family vacations to Disney, playing with her grandkids, her Raggedy Ann collection and sitting out on her porch doing puzzle books. Those who knew Nancy will remember her for her generosity, strength and determination.
Nancy is survived by her children, Beth (Kevin) Van Asdalan of Pittsburgh, Lauri (Doug) Fletcher of Indiana, and Ken (Tina) Steffy of Pittsburgh; and two granddaughters, Kathryn Steffy and Astoria Fletcher.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Alan Steffy in 1987, and her brother, Fred Wassam.
Family and friends will be received Friday, August 28, 2026, from 4 – 7 pm, in the Donahue-Tylinski Funeral Home, Inc., 500 Ben Franklin Road S, Indiana (formerly Bowser Minich). Additional viewing will be held Saturday, from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am, in the funeral home with The Rev. Arlene Schweitzer officiating. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Nancy’s honor be made to the Indiana Free Library at www.indianafreelibrary.org or to the American Cancer Society.
