The weather was certainly perfect to cruise around on a motorcycle or in your car, and those taking part in the annual Teddy Bear Fun Ride did just that on Sunday.
The ride took participants from Aultman on 286 to 422, to 553 to 219 in Ebensburg, to Route 22 and back up 286. Ride captain Dave Crane said that he was happy that this year was a large turnout, with more 140 participants taking part.
Rodney Young, President of the Red Knights Motorcycle club, who organized the ride, said they were happy that the ride has gone on for nine years and they are looking forward to number 10 next year.
While big things are on the horizon for next year’s ride, the Red Knights have not released any official details yet, but next year’s ride is set for August 7th.
The ride is one of the major fundraisers for the Teddy Bear Fund Drive. Proceeds from the ride will go to pediatric care at IRMC and the Free Care Fund of Children’s Hospital of UPMC in Pittsburgh.
