Sophomore quarterback Mason Heintschel tied Pete Gonzalez’s team-record seven touchdown passes as Pitt hammered Miami (Ohio) at Acrisure Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Heintschel hit seven different receivers in the game, completing 31 of 41 passes overall for 453 yards, with no interceptions.
Cataurus Hicks, C.J. Lee, Malik Knight, Bryce Yates, Elijah Lagg, Ja’Kyrian Turner and Damon Ferguson Jr. all caught touchdown passes.
Running back Justin Cook bolted 50 yards for a touchdown on his only carry of the game, in the first quarter, giving Pitt a 14-0 lead.
Pitt will host Central Florida (UCF) next Saturday.
