Linda S. Coon, 77, of Home passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born January 6, 1949 in Kittanning to Kenneth and Gertrude (Cooper) Anderson.
She was a 1966 graduate of Dayton High School. On February 3, 1967, she married Gary L. Coon. They shared 59 years together.
She is survived by her husband; two children, Stacie Palmer, Home, and Gerry Coon (Amanda), Dayton: four grandchildren, Joseph Brendle, Jr. (Alexandrea), Ringgold, Adam Coon, Dayton, Maggie Coon, Dayton, Jordan Palmer, Home: a great grandson Hartlen Brendle, Ringgold: two brothers, Robert Anderson (Peggy), Templeton, Dan Anderson, Punxsutawney; a sister, Nancy McAfoose, Jasper, IN; a sister-in-law Darla Blose (Tom) Dayton: a brother-in-law James Coon (Nancy), OH; and her dog “babies” Baxter and Brody.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law, Mick McAfoose, and a sister-in-law, Betty Anderson.
At Linda’s request, visitation and services are private.
The John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
