The Indiana Area School District is investigating a cybersecurity incident that affected a local district server.
In a letter issued to the community on Sunday, Superintendent Robert Heinrich said that when they learned of the situation, district technology personnel started investigating the issue and implementing response protocols. They are also working with other parties to assess the scope of the incident and restore access to the affected areas. At this time, it’s believed that no student or staff information or financial data maintained in the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit or through PowerSchool has been compromised. Those systems are not on the local server and remain separate from the district’s local network.
Right now, top priority is making sure that information is protected and interruptions to the educational process are minimized. As soon as they have more information, we will pass it along to you.
