IUP has moved up to number six in the nation in women’s field hockey after a 20-0 week in which they beat number five West Chester. The Crimson Hawks are 10-3 overall and 4-1 in the PSAC.
IUP opened the week with a 4-1 victory over Mansfield, and followed with one of their biggest victories of the season Saturday, scoring three unanswered second-half goals to rally past No. 5 West Chester, 3-1, on Senior Day.
The victory marked IUP’s second win over a top-five opponent in an eight-day span after the Crimson Hawks shut out then-No. 5 Bloomsburg, 1-0, on Oct. 17.
Seven of the top ten teams in the nation are PSAC schools, led by number one Kutztown.
