Today, the ribbon was cut for the new home for Alice Paul House.
The new permanent facility replaces an older facility that had its roof collapse in 2016. After many fundraisers and having to shelter domestic violence and sexual assault victims at alternate locations, the new facility will house not just the offices, but it will also serve as a place where victims can go.
Alice Paul House Executive Director Audia Boyles compared the path to today’s ribbon cutting to the journey that many of their survivors have taken where they had to leave because of bad circumstances.
Anyone who feels threatened or unsafe is always encouraged to call the shelter’s hotline at 1-800-435-7249.
