Discussions continued on a swimming pool ordinance during Wednesday afternoon’s White Township Supervisors meeting.
The ordinance relates to the incident involving a five-year-old White Township boy, who was found dead in a swimming pool after wandering away from home in July of last year. Township Manager Chris Anderson said that Supervisors are considering two possible ordinances: one would be an ordinance that would follow the Township’s uniform construction code and the other would add language to the danger structure ordinance.
Anderson gave an update on where they are in the process.
In other business, Supervisors approved an agreement with the Pennsylvania American Water Company that would put two new fire hydrants near the White’s Woods area. One would be put near 515 Edgewood Ave. and the other would be placed near 346 Forest Ridge Road. Anderson said there would be no installation costs, but there is an annual maintenance fee of approximately $179 per year.
He explained what went in to the decision to get these two fire hydrants.
Supervisors also remind residents that a USSSA softball tournament will be held at the White Township Recreation Complex this weekend, among other areas, so the Township could see an influx of people as 80-100 teams are expected.
