Thanks to the passage of a recent resolution, the month of June was designated as Cancer Survivors Recognition Month in Pennsylvania.
Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman says that Senator Dave Arnold, who died after a battle with brain cancer in January of last year, was the initial prime sponsor for the resolution and he adds that cancer is a health problem for many people.
Corman quoted the late Senator with a portion of a message he delivered in 2020, when he thanked cancer survivors for giving those affected by the disease “the strength to keep fighting on.”
The American Cancer Society estimates more than 85,000 Pennsylvanians will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
