Leaf collection will begin today for Indiana Borough.
David Fairman of Indiana Borough’s Public Works department said that they will follow a schedule of Fourth Ward on Tuesday, followed by First Ward on Wednesday, Second Ward on Thursday, and Third Ward on Friday.
Fairman said that bagging leaves will not be necessary, but people should rake their leaves to the curb. Fairman added that limbs are not allowed as they clog the leaf vacuum.
Last year, Fairman said they collected 153.5 tons of leaves in Indiana Borough. The leaves are then taken to the recycling center. Leaf collection will continue through autumn until the leaves are done falling.
