The topic of deer hunting in White’s Woods was brought up Wednesday night at the White Township Supervisors Meeting.
As far as this hunting year goes, hunting is off limits in White’s Woods, and Township Manager Chris Anderson said that “No Hunting” signs have gone up around the woods, but board president George Lenz said that the issue at hand was how it was handled that resulted in a lot of confusion about when hunting would be held. Lenz said that he wanted it to remain an agenda item as he felt it was tabled for one year, and that resulted in what happened in late September when hunting was quickly postponed after signs went up saying that hunting would start soon.
With the discussion continuing over the next year, Lenz hopes that the plan will be in place with plenty of time before the next time deer season comes around in 2023.
In other business, the township supervisors approved by a 3-2 vote to accept by dedication the streets of the Wolf Run Crossing development into the township road network, but there were issues with pillars included in the right of way near the entrance of the area. The acceptance is pending a hold-harmless clause concerning the pillars, an agreement on grass mowing and maintenance of an island in the road, a maintenance bond for a wet spot on the road and a deed of dedication.
