INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
An Indiana man is charged with stealing items from a car in mid-January. Indiana Borough Police say that the theft was reported on January 13th in the 1100 block of Philadelphia Street. After the investigation, police identified one of the suspects as 20-year-old Joshua Freed. It’s not known at this time what was taken from the vehicle. Police filed a criminal complaint through District Judge Guy Haberl’s office charging him with theft from a vehicle and receiving stolen property.
Indiana Borough Police have charged an Indiana man with public drunkenness for an incident at the Sheetz at Fourth and Philadelphia Street. Police say that they were notified of a man in the men’s restroom for an extended period of time. When police got there, they found that 50-year-old Brian Swaniek took a case of alcoholic beverages from the store and was drinking it in the bathroom to the point that he was a danger to himself and others. Along with the public intoxication charge, Swaniek faces a charge of retail theft.
