Rack up a couple more wins for the IUP basketball teams, and a PSAC West title for the men. Jack Benedict has the story of IUP’s sweep of Edinboro.
Men’s coach Joe Lombardi says the PSAC West title is a big achievement.
Lombardi coached his 500th career game last night, all of them at IUP. He said it’s been a blessing.
Coach Craig Carey says his women’s team got a crucial win as the regular season winds down.
Carey says the win showed his team is playing mature basketball, and you can see it in the way they reacted when Edinboro made a run at them.
The home portion of the regular season comes to a close on Saturday with a doubleheader against Slippery Rock. The women’s game tips off at one o’clock with the men to follow.
