The Pirates are declining the 2019 options on Josh Harrison and Jung Ho Kang.

Harrision receives a $1 million buyout, while Kang gets a $250,000 buyout.

The spring has been a difficult one for first responders, with fatal accidents, wildfires, and the storms and resultant power outages. What are the biggest challenges facing volunteer fire companies?

Personnel.  The average age of a Pennsylvania firefighter is 48.  
Equipment.  New fire trucks start at $500,000 and can top $1 million.
Mandates.  Their training requirements are too difficult.
Danger!  A first responder is always in jeopardy.
